(Roxboro, NC) Growing up in a large musical family in Roxboro, NC, Randy Smith got his first guitar at age 8, where he learned to play old bluegrass and gospel standards. By age 12, he had been involved in the recording of three albums by The Faith Quartet. Growing up, Randy's dad had all kinds of different instruments in his collection, and Randy's musical curiosity allowed him to learn to play everything from guitar, bass guitar and piano, all the way to banjo and slide steel guitar. Over the years, Randy has played in various country / southern rock bands, including Neon Moon, Southern Fryed, Quicksilver, BottomzUp and Nothing Fancy. In 2001, Randy made the move to beach and motown music with The Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os out of Durham, NC. In late 2010, Randy joined The Castaways where he fills the songs with piano and organ riffs, along with lead and harmony vocals.
